Mihoko & Mark’s wedding at Mansion House – North East Photographer

North East Photographer

I met Mihoko at Mansion House’s open day as she was looking for a North East Photographer to capture her and Mark’s special day.  We chatted for ages and it was clear we shared a similar vision about photography (she has also dabbled with the dark arts) and she loved my story telling approach through candid documentary images.  I was really pleased when she contacted me a couple of days later to book, it seemed like an exciting wedding to be part of and when the day came I wasn’t disappointed!  Even the weather which was awful in the morning brightened up later in the day for some lovely shots of the happy couple in the beautiful gardens at Mansion House and brought a romantic spring time feel to the wedding.

As a North East Photographer I get to shoot at a huge variety of venues all over the region but I absolutely love Mansion House, it’s very historic building, lots of authentic period features and a bit of an hidden gem.  It fitted the couple perfectly and although I hadn’t met Mark before the big day but it was clear to see that he was a great match for the very happy and friendly Mihoko, we had lots of laughs during the bride and groom portraits as they are such a fun and relaxed people to be around.

The wedding was a real eclectic mix of people from all over the world, friends and family had jetted in for the special day from all over the world including Japan, Hong Kong and Holland.  Mihoko was quite nervous on the morning so asked I get shots of the guests instead of the usual bridal preparations but when I did go up to her just before the ceremony she looked stunningly beautiful!  The ceremony itself was a real mix of romance and slightly nervous giggles and the drinks reception after was a celebration of family, friendships and love.   The speeches were very funny and it was really clear to see how close Mihoko and Mark are to their loved ones with some very funny and personal anecdotes.  We headed outside just after this for the bride and groom portraits and then I came to the end of my time at this beautiful wedding as Mihoko and Mark booked me to capture the earlier part of the wedding only, but it was a fantastic celebration and one I’ll look back on with fondness for a long time to come.

Mihoko and Mark thank you for your warmth and kindness on the day, you are a perfect couple and such a pleasure to be around.  I wish you so much happiness in your lives together.
