Lyndsay & James’ wedding – North East wedding photographer

North East wedding photographer

Being a North East wedding photographer I get to see many beautiful venues around the region, and without a doubt one of my favourites is Jesmond Dene House – it’s also one of the places I shoot at the most too.  First up I’d like to mention Lyndsay and James who are just the most enjoyable people to work with, I really felt appreciated on the day and lost track of the times they thanked me for things I was doing, they are so sweet and easy to get along with.  We also had a crazily hot day with some serious sunshine, considering this was a September wedding we really had incredible weather, it felt more like August in Greece than September in Newcastle… perfect!  Friends and family?  Yep you guessed it, also unbelievably lovely and accommodating.

I always try and be as flexible a North East wedding photographer as is possible and so when Lyndsay and James asked me to spend a bit of time with James in the morning before going to ‘The Apartment’ to capture bridal preparations I was more than happy too.  It was great seeing James with his groomsmen, they were very relaxed and friendly and I had a good time documenting the time I spent with them.  When I moved on to Lyndsay I found a bride to be who was equally as relaxed and friendly – it is really clear to see how these guys are just the absolute perfect match in every way.

Lyndsay and James had a Humanist ceremony and it was the first time I’d been involved in one.  It was really interesting though and I loved the way their hands were bound together in ribbon at one point, it was such a personal and individual ceremony and great fun to shoot.  After this the couple were lead out by their bagpiper in to the beautiful sunshine, not a bad way to walk back up the aisle! After some great bride and groom portraits and a few drinks in the lovely grounds of the venue the bagpiper lead them back in to the room before playing a song and downing a glass of whiskey.  I am lead to believe this is a tradition the bagpiper does for every couple and it went down a storm!

We had some great speeches after the wedding breakfast, a lovely 1st dance and finally a ceilidh where I foolishly / bravely got in the middle of it to get some amusing shots before I left for home.  It was such an amazing wedding and one I will remember for a long time.

Lyndsay and James you guys are the perfect couple, both for each other and for a photographer like me to work with… Here’s to your lifetime of happiness together!
