Jade & Paul’s wedding | Documentary wedding photography at Wylam Brewery
Jade and Paul booked me as they loved my natural and relaxed style, I found out a few weeks before their big day that they actually wanted full documentary wedding photography, no posed photos, non at all. It’s been a while since I shot a wedding with no group shots or portraits but I really feel like this a great challenge, one I relish, to tell the couple’s story in a way that really reflects what happened, and within that create images they can frame and put on their mantelpiece. So was I up for the challenge? You bet!
Ok slight disclaimer here, I did sneak one posed photo of them, outside at night, silhouetted with flash and using the festoon lights as a cool backdrop. The rest though was all unposed, unscripted and just how it unfolded, pure documentary wedding photography, and what a wedding to photograph it was!!!
When you have a wedding in a brewery, and one as cool as Wylam Brewery you just know it’s going to be awesome, Jade and Paul’s was just that. It was a real party atmosphere, cool, quirky, fun and above all a celebration. Everywhere you looked people were laughing, chatting and just having a great time. The fantastic beers were being supped, a brewery tour was available for people to hear about the brewery’s history and how the beers are made, and should you not fancy a pint, well there was a brilliant Gin bar too!
Everything about this wedding was just fantastic fun, the bridal prep through to the ceremony was just constant giggles, the speeches tear jerking and hilarious in equal measures, and the first dance through to the party had an electric atmosphere. What a wedding!!!
A huge thanks to Jade & Paul for not just inviting me along to capture their big day but making me feel a real part of it, you guys are awesome people and your wedding really reflected this. I had a blast!
